March ... marched on

Here's a little news from the last day of February thru March ...

Philip and I flew to Las Vegas for Holdens blessing. Holden all spiffy in his suit and little man shoes! I think he looks like Humpty Dumpty in this picture ... a very cute Humpty! He looks like he is wondering why he is in this stuffy outfit!

Big brother Toby is just hanging out waiting for the event to begin.

Great Grandpa Odom held Holden for such a long time we finally had to ask him to let someone else have a turn. :)

The whole happy Tiner family!

After the blessing, which was at Ross's house on Saturday, we all changed clothes and went on an outing to Bonnie Springs Ranch.

The BFF's on the merry go round. Who looks like they are having more fun? Cranpa or Toby?

Toby looking through the fence to see what's on the other side ... I dont think you ever get too old to want to know that!

Grandpa Odom looking pretty darn good!

Everyone watching intensely waiting for the hanging.

Some donkey riding ...

Checking out the petting zoo and animals ...

Waiting for the train ... which long story short, only Darin and Toby rode.

A fun time at the base of the gorgeous Red Rock Canyon.

I found Toby playing in Cranpa's suitcase. I think Cranpa would love to have packed him up when it was time to go!

Back home ...

Whitney came for a few days and we had some activity with the Reilly family ...

Thursday, we went to Aidan's first wrestling meet. Aidan did pretty darn good, I think he won 2 of the 3 matches that day. He is such a good wrestler that Grammie could only capture him as a blur! (good excuse for a bad picture!)

Friday night we finally opened up the Wii fit and Whit insisted on taking pictures of my uncoordinated hula hooping! Its been years since my hips had to move like that! But it alllllll came back to me! Whit did it too but Janice was a weenie and only watched!

Saturday night we had the Reilly's for dinner and fun. The twinks decided to have candle light dinner.

Brogie was the bomb at Hula Hoop! He's got rhythm! And Connor was determined.

Hilary made us giggle!

And Whit had to show us all up with her smooth moving hips and athletic ability!

We all had a lot of laughs while trying our skills at ski jumping, slalom racing, running, etc, etc. We all decided that Wii fit kicks your butt! It really gets your heart pumping.

A few days before the official beginning of Spring, my hyacinths and daffodils were in bloom. I love walking to the front door and seeing and smelling the lovely fragrance of the hyacinths. I love my flowers blooming so much I sometimes just have to go gaze at them!

Humorous visual ...

I have this vision of a guy wearing my new shorts, shirt and sweater, eating sunflower seeds, CheezIts and Cars cookies, doing Sudoku puzzles, quacking the duck whistles and watching The Bee Movie with my sunglasses on! A funny scenario that pretty much covers using what they stole.

I am happily cooking a turkey breast in the brand new Crockpot they so kindly left behind!

Addendum: A day of Ups and Downs ...

I spoke too soon about the downs ...

Philip took the minivan in for repair and it needed a part that had been repaired once on a recall. And that part went bad, but Dodge wont honor a repair a recall repair again. Stupid.

Later, I came home to this odor in the house I couldnt figure out. About 20 minutes later I walked in the kitchen to a big pool of water. After cleaning it up, I opened the doors on the cabinets under the sink to discover one huge wet mess and the odor: wet wood. When Philip came home he discovered the garbage disposal was the culprit. Part of the metal had just rotted off and the hose from the dishwasher was dangling and showering everything under there. Philip went to Home Depot all by himself so it is a Cadillac disposer.

So $410 for the car, $200 for a new disposer and minus about $65 stolen items from the car ... it was a peachy, kiss money goodbye day!

We did start out good with the baby sonogram and we ended at the gym ... so it wasnt alllll bad! :)

A day of ups and downs ...

3D Color Ultrasounds are truly incredible! Being able to share the experience with Karly and Josh from Calgary via the internet is incredible! I loved the pictures of "the guy"! For those of you that don't know, we wont know the sex of "the guy" until arrival day! One of life's surprises! I loved Karly's giggles. :) I wish I could hug them both right this minute!!!

...

Well this good day just had a lil down turn, I went out to my car to take Philip to pick up his car from the shop and ... someone got into my car last night and stole about $60 worth of new stuff and my old sunglasses. They however left my work badge, the CD changer cartridge, a new pair of shoes, new crockpot and a 12 pack of soda, how weird is that?! I left the car unlocked cause I was going to go to the gym an hour after I got home but plans changed. They looked for the garage door opener too, but we dont have one. Lesson learned: always lock the car cause I frequently have something of value in there.

February ...

February was like the first of the year for me since January was jam packed and life finally slowed down a bit. Here's just a few things to share ...

I had a birthday and I wish those would slow down! I am not one bit ready to get older!!!

I finally got my first pair of real eyeglasses! It only took 3 doctor appointments/exams and the eyeglasses being made 3 times to get it right! If they aren't right, they are good enough. I am done with it. And I am done with that Doctor. I finally feel insisted he listen to me and educate me so a choice that works best for my eyesight situation and needs was met cause the progressive lenses were actually handicapping my vision. I only need to wear them for long distance. For computer and reading, I am still using my readers. That was a ridiculous and emotional ordeal! Surgery would be less painful!
They are dark purple on the front and light purple on the sides, bifocals ... with lines. Same for the sunglasses ... dark blue front and lighter blue sides. The self photo is not too red hot!

We went to a lot of Connor's basketball games and saw him improve a lot! He really enjoyed it and looks forward to play again. (Didnt have my camera at any of his games darn it!)

I had fun making Valentine packages and mailing them. And baked some heart shaped brownies and didnt get to deliver most of them so I kept sending them to work with Philip! I LOVE Valentines Day.

The twins excitedly invited me to watch their school music program and of course, I accepted!

Brogan was so excited he picked out his clothes a week before! Finn is always a lil ham!

After the show, pics with their biggest fans!

Connor had his 11th birthday

Of course he lit his own candles! He loved the new Van's from Cranpa and Grammie along with lots of other nice gifts.

So this is why I'm fat?!

Today I saw this post on Mercedes facebook page and it just amazed me beyond belief! Check it out and think about sinkin your teeth into some of these incredible edibles! Which one is your favorite?

http://thisiswhyyourefat.com/

I think I need to look at this everyday before I eat! Or when I dont want to go to the gym!

A very good day to be grateful again ...

February 5, 2009 my birthday and a very good day to be grateful again. Not that I haven't been but I haven't been writing my journal and I have been wanting to start again so this could be the start of something good!

I am thankful I was born healthy and so far have stayed mostly healthy. My mental health is questionable at times! haha I wont even go there!
I have always loved being a February person and wonder if that's why I love Valentines day and hearts and pink so much?
I am really blessed to have so many people wish me a happy birthday. It is really wonderful knowing you have such a large group of people that love and care about you.
Today was an adventure birthday from start to finish and that made it rather fun! I went and got myself a yummy bagel from the Bagel Stand (they have authentic bagels and just happen to be close by). I was okay that Janice had to cancel lunch since she was sick cause we can always have lunch when she feels better. So, Plan B: went to get some facial waxing and eyebrow tinting to pamper myself. Since the tire was low on the Lexus I took it to get the tires rotated and they found a screw in the tire and fixed it and then went to the car wash for my free birthday car wash! So me and the car got pampered today. Grabbed some greasy Jack in the Box lunch and a coke. Spent some time looking for eyeglass frames. Browsed Big Lots. Got a lot of phone calls. Picked a place to eat as we drove around which happened to be a Greek Bar and Grill so ... a little ethnic-ish dinner. Went to Connor's basketball game. Took cake and ice cream to Hilary's house to celebrate with them. A most off the cuff birthday that left me with a happy heart all day long! Who could ask for more?

Some more things I loved about today ...

Sleeping in a little.
That I have lost a few pounds!
That nothing negative or stressful crossed my path today.
Hearing some good 80's songs I haven't heard in a while.
Josh reminding me of a cute phrase he made up when he was about 2 1/2 years old.
Cora telling me she can read upside down!
Beautiful weather even if it didn't rain like it was supposed to. I loved the clouds in the sky with the suggestion of a storm.
Walking in the kitchen and seeing the faux-florist arranging two beautiful vases of flowers: a pure white mix in one vase and pink tulips, my fraverite, in the other! (ps he did a pretty good job!)
Happy faces and hugs and kisses from the Twins. Especially Finn cause she is a kissy, huggy girl.
Seeing Connor get the ball passed to him and attempt to make a basket! I love seeing his improvement.
Aidan actually hugging and kissing me cause at 12 sometimes you feel "too big" for that stuff.
Ty picking out a card for me on his own and writing a sweet message.
Unwinding with a little Wii golf and bowling with Philip. He beat me at golf and I have a new personal record in bowling! Yahoo! Still have a ways to go to beat Pro Bowler Whitney!
Not having to work tonight.
